Hiroshima Municipal Stadium (広島市民球場 Hiroshima Shimin Kyūjō), often called MAZDA Zoom-Zoom Stadium Hiroshima (MAZDA Zoom-Zoom スタジアム広島), is a baseball stadium in Minami-ku, Hiroshima, Japan. It is used primarily for baseball and is the home of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of the Japanese Central League. The ballpark has a capacity of 32,000 people and opened on April 10, 2009. It replaced First Hiroshima Municipal Stadium and initially retained the old ballpark’s official name.

The Jishu Shrine, dedicated to Ōkuninushi, a god of love and “good matches” is located in the Kiyomizu dera domain. Jishu Shrine possesses a pair of “love stones” placed 6 meters/20 feet apart, which lonely visitors can try to walk between with their eyes closed. Success in reaching the other stone with their eyes closed implies that the pilgrim will find love, or true love. One can be assisted in the crossing, but this is taken to mean that a go-between will be needed. The person’s romantic interest can assist them as well.

Joseph Tame ( @tamegoeswild ) running the Tokyo marathon streaming live his race! A great project featured all around the world!!!

I was part of the Rally point group..( Heather, Jesse, Derek, Jim and Vivi)   Helping Joseph at 10, 21 and 35 km points with food, drink, batteries and support!

It was a very fun day, running from the Tokyo imperial palace, the first meeting point, to Ginza apple store, the second meeting point, passing by Tokyo underground over crowded!

Joseph decided to go to the Apple store for a short pitstop and surprised everybody!

Then we had to run to the third meeting point at Harumi Dori Ginza, the 35km point..

There we had a surprise for Joseph….. a gang of cheerleaders from 女子美術大学　チアダンス部 SPIRiTS  “Joshibi College Cheerleading Squad ”

It was a great experience, lot of fun, and we also made a little marathon running from point to point ^_^

We were also very lucky with the weather! it was just PERFECT.. and today, Monday, it s raining/snowing and really cold!

The Tokyo marathon 2011 was blessed lol

Ice-skating at a rink in the Red Brick Warehouse Park
The rink is placed on a square in front of the Warehouses during Winter. The rink is open until February 28th, this year.

China Town’s annual festival celebrating Chinese New Year. The 2011 Chinese New Year was February 3rd. But festivities go until February 17th.  Firecrackers crackle while dragons and lions dance along with cymbals, drums, and gongs. During the festival China Town is festive with various live performances including Guzheng, songs and dances.

Odawara Hojo Godai Matsuri 2010

I know it s old, and maybe you already seen this video, but it s time to plan things to do in May.. and this is really a Matsuri you must see  in your life time.. So, since this month Japan blog matsuri is about Events, I think it s a good opportunity to remind you about this matsuri!

it’s a very cool Matsuri  held in Odawara, near Tokyo on the way to Hakone, where thousand of people with Samurai armors make a reconstitution of the great period of Odawara..

Samurai, horse, ninja, soldiers,… A place to visit in the very beginning of May to go back to the past.

Theme: “Famous Japanese Events”

In this edition of the Matsuri tell us about a famous Japanese event, or more simplistically, a current or historical “notable occurrence related to Japan”. The possibilities are endless. It could be a current event, a recreational event, an historical event, a religious event, a sporting event, a cultural event, an entertainment event, a political event, a social event. The list could go on. The event does not necessarily have to occur in Japan but it must be related to Japan.
